Governor of Texas Tests Good COVID-19, Has No Symptoms
Greg Abbott: (Reuters) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott, whose government has been hit by a fourth increase in COVID, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday but so far has no symptoms, his office said.
Abbott, a Republican who has been trapped in a war with some local leaders over the ban on secret authorities in schools, is separating himself, his office said. The emperor, who is completely vaccinated, also receives antibody treatment.
“I get tested every day, and today is the first day I found out I was infected,” Abbott said in a video posted on Twitter. “And I want you to know that I have received the COVID-19 vaccine, and that may be one reason why I am not feeling any symptoms right now.”
On Monday night Abbott addressed a crowd of hundreds at an event at the Republican Party in Durban’s Dallas area where a few wearing masks. On Tuesday, the governor posted a Twitter picture of himself meeting guitarist Jimmie Vaughan, the brother of the famous Texas actor Stevie Ray Vaughan.
“Everyone the governor has been very close to today has been informed,” said Mark Miner, Abbott’s communications manager. “Texas first wife Cecilia Abbott was tested positive.”
The statement did not provide a clue as to when the emperor discovered the virus.
News of Abbott’s infection came on the same day when Houston officials said they would pay $ 100 to anyone receiving his first dose of COVID vaccine and as hospitals in the area are expected to this week exceed the number of COVID patient records in care.

Vaccines protect people from serious illnesses, hospitalization and death after getting a coronavirus, but vaccinated people can still become infected and pass it on.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, the state’s chief electoral officer for Houston, urged residents to spend $ 100, which she said would last until at least August 31.
“We have to go up, that’s enough!” Hidalgo said at a press conference.
Hidalgo said the Harris County program had $ 2.3 million in funding and was funded by the American Rescue Plan program. It comes after the presidency of President Joe Biden in July called on local governments to pay such a fee to raise the remaining vaccination rate across the country.
Dr Esmaeil Porsa, CEO of Harris Health Hospital program, appeared next to Hidalgo on Tuesday and said his facilities now have more COVID patients than ever before.
“This is the worst outbreak we have ever experienced as a community,” he said. “I beg you – do the right thing. Be vaccinated.”

The Texas State Department of Health said earlier this month it had requested five caravans from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in case hospitals needed support in caring for the bodies of COVID victims. So far, no one has asked for the use of trailers, the email said.
The highly contagious variety of Delta continues to prevail in Texas and other provinces with low vaccination rates.
The United States has registered more than 37 million cases of COVID since the outbreak began. The rate at which new cases are added is much faster than before, according to a Reuters report. It took only 18 days on Monday for two million new cases to be reported – the fastest ever recorded.
Florida has the highest rate of COVID in hospitals, with 16,832 patients, according to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The diversity of Delta is already disrupting the new school year in some of the worst hit districts.
In Tampa, Florida, nearly 5,600 students and more than 300 employees from a single school district were alone or separated Tuesday due to arrest or exposure by COVID. The Hillsborough County School Board said it would hold an emergency school board meeting on Wednesday to find a better way to reduce the spread of the virus.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, has denied the authority to hide in schools, even though some of his order officials have not.
In Louisiana, where Democratic Alliance Governor John Bel Edwards has ordered masks to be used in homes across the country, including schools, more than 3,000 New Orleans students are isolated or isolated, reports Orleans Parish school district.
Although those numbers are high, Dr. Benjamin Springgate, the district’s medical advisor, told NOLA.com that the transfer of COVID to schools remains uncommon.
