International Photography Day 2021: Why is it celebrated?

International Photography Day 2021: On this day, photographers come together to celebrate the ingenuity and nuances of photography that have delighted us for years.
August 19th each year is celebrated as World Photography Day, dedicated to the arts, art, science and history of photography.

Photography is a very important way to tell stories. It conveys emotions faster and sometimes more effectively than words. With the rapid development of camera technology, it has become one of the main means of communication in the digital world.

On this day, photographers come together to celebrate the ingenuity and nuances of photography that have delighted us for years.

History

The date traces its origin to 1837 when the first photographic process, the ‘Daguerreotype’ was invented by the Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce. On January 9, 1839, the French Academy of Sciences announced the procedure, and later that same year, the French government bought the patent for the invention and gave it as a gift, “free to the world.”
New Delhi: World Photography Day brings together people who share their love of photography moments and ideas and show the world what it looks like. Like historians, photographers, too, are writing this for now so that future generations can understand the past. A day to celebrate creativity. While the advent of technology has made photography more accessible to everyone with a camera, there are very few photos from lenses that accurately describe the captured moment. Still, it is surprising that so many people now have access to images today.
World Photography Day began with the invention of the daguerreotype, the first commercially successful photographic process by Louis Daguerre. On August 19, 1839, the French Academy of Sciences announced construction worldwide. French author Roland Barthes describes an image in his book, Camera Lucida, as a repetition of a once-in-a-lifetime event. “This picture repeats what can never be repeated in existence.”

  1. Does anyone know what happened to Dimepiece Los Angeles celebrity streetwear brand? I cannot check out on Dimepiecela site. I’ve read in The Sun that they were bought out by a UK-based hedge fund in excess of $50m. I’ve just bought the Dimepiece Women’s Athletic Club Crewneck Sweatshirt from Ebay and totally love it xox
