UPSC NDA Exam: Supreme Court allows women candidates to participate in September elections

UPSC NDA Exam: The UPSC NDA Exam can now be taken by female candidates. The Supreme Court has allowed women who want to take part in the September exams to be conducted by the Commission.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed women candidates to take part in the UPSC NDA polls this year. The National Defense Academy examination will take place on September 5, 2021 and women candidates will appear in it. Admission to the facility will be subject to final court orders.

A panel of judges consisting of judges Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hrishikesh Roy extended the interim order in an application by Kush Kalra seeking permission for women candidates to appear in the annual National Defense Academy examination conducted by the UPSC.

Meanwhile, the UPSC NDA / NA II Exam 2021 scheduled for September 5, 2021 has been postponed. The test will now be conducted on November 14, 2021 and the scheduled Combined Defense Services Examination (II), 2021.

According to the official announcement, the exam will fill 370 vacancies at the National Defense Academy and 30 vacancies at the Naval Academy (10 + 2 Cadet Entry Scheme). Previously the eligibility process was that the nominees must be single men and must be born before January 2, 2003, and not before January 1, 2006. However, with this order, it is expected that baptismal women born on the above dates may be tested.
